The Role of a Room Parent
Room parents are responsible for communicating with the teacher, Parent Liaison, and/or other
classroom parents to meet classroom needs, organize class parties, attend PTO meetings once a
month, facilitate teacher appreciation gifts in December and May, and other duties based on
the needs of the classroom teacher.

- Each classroom can have up to two room parents who work as partners throughout the school year and communicate with all the parents in the classroom.
- As a Room Parent, you are not responsible for being at the school daily.
- Your time commitment is minimal, but your impact is huge.
- You should be an effective communicator and be willing to talk to all the parents of students in the classroom.
- Becoming a Room Parent will automatically fulfill your annual volunteer obligations.
