In these units, your child will learn specific skills to help stop bullying.
Students will learn how to:
- Recognize when bullying is happening, report bullying to a caring adult, and refuse to let bullying happen
- Be a bystander who helps stop bullying
- Support someone being bullied by standing up for that person and being kind and inclusive
- Recognize, report, and refuse cyberbullying when they see or know about it happening
You can get involved in making our school a safe and respectful place by letting us know if you hear about bullying at our school.
- Make sure your child knows to tell you or someone at school if he or she is being bullied, or if he or she knows about someone else being bullied.
- Give your child the clear message that it is never okay to bully others.

Unidad Prevención del Bullying
Para ayudar más a que nuestra escuela sea un lugar seguro en el que todos se respetan, también vamos a usar la unidad Prevención del Bullying de Second Step. En esta unidad, su niño o niña aprenderá habilidades específicas que le ayudarán a detener el bullying.
Los estudiantes aprenderán a:
- Reconocer cuándo ocurre un caso de bullying, reportar el bullying a un adulto que se preocupe por ellos y rechazar que alguien les haga bullying a ellos mismos o a otros.
- Ser un testigo que actúa para participar en la solución del bullying. •Apoyar a una persona que sufre de bullying defendiendo a esa persona y siendo amable e inclusivo.
- Reconocer, reportar y rechazar el ciberbullying cuando lo ven o cuando saben que ocurre.
¡Y también necesitamos su ayuda! Participen en hacer de nuestra escuela un lugar seguro en el que todos se respetan comunicándonos cualquier caso de bullying del que puedan tener noticia.
- Asegúrense de que su niño o niña sabe cómo decirles a ustedes o a otra persona en la escuela si alguien le está haciendo bullying.
- Y denle un mensaje claro sobre que nunca está bien hacer bullying a los demás.
