It has been a truly wonderful experience seeing all the returning and new students in the hallways going to learn everyday. We are off to a great start in our renewed commitment to an establishing a great culture of learning in both buildings. We appreciate everyone's patience in the new procedures and structures to make our school safer and more academic focused. We have loved the level of energy that a new school year always brings to any building during this time of the year and GVA Aurora is moving in the right direction. We have many new faces that will be supporting your students education and look forward to hearing from you as parents as we move along to bring excellence to our wonderful school. This 2019-2020 is off to an amazing start and we look forward to the many things ahead.
Please remember that we have two important dates coming up this week that we would love to have you attend:
AVID Parent Night: Tuesday, August 27th (West Campus) at 6:00pm - 7:00pm Please come out to learn and discuss this new programming that all of our GVA students will be participating in at every grade level. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) will be laying the common strategy that want all students to practice while at GVA - Aurora. This program has strong data to support it can help our current immersion programming and your students learning at all levels of education. Our instructional coach, Stacy VanHerke, will be presenting.
Back to School Night: Thursday, August 29th (West and East Campus) at 5:00pm - 7:30pm. Please come meet your students amazing teachers. You will be following your students schedule and meeting each teacher. Each teacher will be giving you a description of their class as well as the information to set up a more detail office hour meeting if needed. We want you to get to know our amazing staff. Also, we will also be giving 4th -8th Grade individual 18-19 CMAS Data this evening. We will have tables set up in the cafeteria and common space to start you that evening. We will be moving classes with our bells in the building.
Again, we appreciate you being a part of the GVA - Aurora family and look forward to seeing your child(ren) grow throughout the year. We will keep focused to our new vision statement below and moving forward to one excellent year:

¡Gracias por una increíble primera semana completa con GVA-Aurora! Ha sido una experiencia realmente maravillosa ver a todos los estudiantes nuevos y los que regresan, en los pasillos listos para aprender todos los días. Hemos tenido un gran comienzo en nuestro renovado compromiso para establecer una gran cultura de aprendizaje en ambos edificios. Apreciamos la paciencia de todos en los nuevos procedimientos y estructuras para hacer que nuestra escuela sea más segura y más centrada en lo académico. Nos encanta el nivel de energía que un nuevo año escolar siempre trae a cualquier edificio durante esta época del año y GVA Aurora se está dirigiendo a la dirección correcta. Tenemos muchas caras nuevas que apoyarán la educación de sus estudiantes y esperamos escuchar de ustedes como padres a medida que avanzamos para brindar excelencia a nuestra maravillosa escuela. Este 2019-2020 ha tenido un comienzo increíble y esperamos muchas cosas en el futuro.

Seguirán el horario de sus alumnos y conocerán a cada maestro. Cada maestro le dará una descripción de su clase, así como la información para programar una junta más detallada en horas de oficina si fuera necesario. Queremos que conozca a nuestro increíble personal. Además, esta tarde también estaremos dando datos individuales del examen de CMASS 18-19 de cuarto a octavo grado. Tendremos mesas en la cafetería y un espacio comunitario para comenzar esa noche. Vamos a cambiar de clase cada que la campana suene en el edificio.
Nuevamente, apreciamos que sea parte de la familia de GVA - Aurora y esperamos ver crecer a sus hijos durante todo el año. Nos mantendremos enfocados en nuestra nueva visión, que se lee abajo y avanzaremos hacia un año excelente:
