Assessment Schedule

In accordance with C.R.S. 22-7-1013(7), this calendar provides families with information about all state and local assessments that students will take during the school year. The chart below describes each assessment, whether it is required by federal/state law or selected locally, when it will be administered, and how the results are used by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and Global Village Academy.

2025–2026 GVAA Assessment Calendar

i-Ready	K–8	School-selected	Aug. 14–15, Sept. 10–11, Dec. 11–12, May 13–14	Measures progress in reading and math. Used by teachers to monitor growth and guide instruction.
DIBELS	K–3	State (READ Act)	Aug. 18–29, Dec. 1–12, May 4–15	Assesses early literacy skills. Required to monitor reading development and identify supports.
CogAT	2nd & 6th	School-selected	Nov. 3–14	Ability assessments used to identify gifted and talented learners.
ACCESS for ELLs	K–8	Federal/State	Jan. 12–Feb. 13	Measures English language proficiency for multilingual learners. Results guide instruction and are used by CDE for accountability.

CMAS	3–8	Federal/State	Apr. 6–24	Statewide assessment of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Results are used by CDE for accountability and locally to guide instruction.
Immersion Language Test	K–8	School-selected	Sept. 3–5 (1st–8th), Dec. 2–5 (K–8), Apr. 29–May 1 (K), May 5–7 (1st–8th)	Assesses student proficiency in immersion program languages; used to inform instruction and placement.

The dates reflect a “testing window” rather than a few days during the “testing window.”
